I’ve somehow hit the discourse of “I’m white and I know what rap is about 🤓” side of things and it’s reminding me of a guy i knew in high school reciting the importance of Fuck The Police to me as if I’ve never heard it before. Then he proceeded to play Tyler the Creator’s Flower Boy in full (the album had just dropped at the time) and go track by track on all the lyrical meanings and I felt like I was trapped in a Genius video.
My point is, trying to pull the “I’m not racist, I UNDERSTAND your struggles” is off putting imo cuz to white people can only understand to a certain degree. I’ve known white people who are these raving mad rap fans and then the second I start bringing up current black issues all I hear is “well, it’s just always been that way. What am I supposed to do about it?”
FUCKING GIVE A SHIT ABOUT BLACK PEOPLE EVERY ONCE AND A WHILE AND NOT JUST WHEN THEY DROP AN ALBUM!!! LISTEN TO THE BLACK PEOPLE IN YOUR LIFE TALK ABOUT THEIR STRUGGLES AND STOP USING THE VAST UMBRELLA OF RAP AS A LENS TO SEE ALL BLACK PEOPLE THROUGH!!!
The fact that we’re still at a point where even the “good guy” white folk think that because they heard a couple tracks and watched the This Is America music video once they’re the most perfect ally when that’s just not true.
#rap discourse#rap drama 2024#fuck the police#tyler the creator#this is america#it’s so exhausting#trying to educate#white people#y’all can’t listen#cuz you gotta be right about everything#even the history you never learned#you don’t wanna hear black people#you just want to pretend to care#until the fad wears off#where’s the white rap fans at blm protests?#where’s the white rap fans who know the system is rigged and want to fix it?#i’m fucking sick of it#all this fake support#stop pretending to care#only when it fits your narrative#you people disgust me

Look ok. I am not American. I am Australian. I have seen the fucking trickle down effect of letting someone genuinely unhinged with absolutely no political experience and a hard right radical mindset globally. It's infectious roots reaching out and poisoning everything to the point it has affected me personally.
I know you hate Biden. I know your political system is fucked. But I am on my hands and knees, begging you, as my will to live trembles in a world where I genuinely feel like I fell into the wrong timeline the second Trump got in because 'surely people aren't that stupid?' - we are literally watching you all from the outside baffled.
You're the western world power whether you like it or not. You are the goddamn orchestra conductor and you set the tune for the entire Western world and you have a responsibility to.
FUCKING.
VOTE.
You do realise this is basically a vote between Mr. Burns and THE LITERAL FUCKING DEVIL right?
I don't care if you don't agree with Biden - because you know whose gonna vote if you don't vote 'in protest'? Republicans. He will 120% get in again because you decided to sit on your ass and do nothing to stop it.
Your disillusionment with the system is just spurring your own inaction. Yelling does nothing. VOTING DOES SOMETHING.
Like I genuinely fucking wonder if this disillusionment to the point y'all are just giving up, lying down flat on your back and letting the rabid dogs feast on your still living, breathing corpse - has been purposefully seeded and promoted by your right wing factions because as long as you don't vote? They win.
You aren't protesting. You're lying down to become their feast. You want action? You vote. You vote for the people who will most likely listen. They don't listen? GET INTO POLITICS. BE THE FUCKING CHANGE, NOT A ROADBLOCK IN YOUR OWN FUTURE.
Dear god please. I want to feel like humanity is worth living for. I am hanging on by a thread here.
Fucking vote.
#us politics#kerytalk#idk I ... I don't know if I can live in a world where he gets in again#I'm literally going to have to go dark and pretend America doesnt exist or something if I'm going to keep going#go live off the grid or something I cant see this happen again#not to be dramatic but I DONT EVEN LIVE IN YOUR GODDAMN COUNTRY#AND I KNOW. THIS WILL. STILL AFFECT ME.#IT TRICKLES THE FUCK DOWN OK#YOU SET THE SCORE - DO YOUR GODDAMN DUE DILIGENCE#WHY THE FUCK ELSE DO YOU THONK WE'RE SEEING A WESTERN RIGHT SWING GLOBALLY#THE SUDDEN WALKBACK OF HUMAN RIGHTS IN SEVERAL COUNTRIES#THE INTENSIFIED RACIAL DESCRIMINATION?#YOU LET THE RIGHT WINGERS KNOW THEIR DISGUSTING HUMANITY HATING BEHAVIOUR IS ACCEPTABLE#THAT THEY SHOULD BE IN POWER#this has been a tag rant#ugh I'm gonna lose it if I'm not careful

flag culture in england vs america is v funny to me. because in america the flag is just everywhere. but in england if you fly the flag, you're instantly identifiable as a racist and brexit supporter
#if i'm wrong let me know#tbh it might be similar in america#but like you hardly ever see the union jack here let alone the english flag (except when football)#the bungalow opposite us put up a flagpole with the union jack and the parents' instant reaction was#immediate disgust#and mum wanted to put up my pride flag in retaliation (cause a bunch of neighbours hopped on the union jack trend)#but I didn't want to because mine#my ex friend tried to tell me having the union jack up didn't mean you were racist but like...#that just made me suspicious of her family tbh#albatross rambles

I try not to engage in any arguments on instagram because no matter what's the discussion about, I have a furry pfp and pronouns in my bio so it would always eventually just turn into people bullying me or being straight up transphobic and/or ableist. And honestly it's gotta be good for my mental health, not arguing with people online, me being openly a furry prevents me from getting into pointless arguments 👍
#tho one time i got baited into an argument in a comment thread under a random meme video#where i literally just made a joke comment about the meme and a bunch of dudes decided to jump on me for being a furryvand trans#so since then i avoid making comments in general honestly#at least under strangers posts#but also. its so frustrating sometimes#when theres a genuinely serious problem in the comments but i can't say anything bc i will just get shit on just bc of my pfp#like. i just saw a reel that was like#europeans making fun of america being racist. also europeans when they see g slur people#im not actually sure if thats a slur but i dont wanna risk it. romani people#and the comments were just. agreeing with the post as if thats a good thing#genuinely talking about them in disgusting ways#and yknow its annoying to see that kind of shit and knowing that if you try saying anything youll get shredded to pieces#anhway its 4am and i cant sleep cause my oaws still hurt help#bee buzz

Okay I was going into the bigger city area for once and I saw like these public scooters and was like “oh neat!”. It turns put they require AN APP that has a SUBSCRIPTION MODEL. I just want transportation PLEASE, I don’t wanna have to pay for a subscription just to use a fucking scooter.
theres bikes around the city you can rent but you have to use an app that needs your drivers license. theres buses that drive right to your destination, but if you dont have change you need the app. you can wash your car here if you sign into the app. you can go to the bathroom here you just have to unlock it with the app that needs your location on. you can order at this restaurant if you scan the code and download the app. im losing my freaking mind
#also wanna note how fucking ableist all this shit is#like anyone who is disabled and needs access to public transportation but cant drive is fucked#unless you have a phone and money to spare (2 things a lot of people may not have) than you just cant use transportation ig#american infastructure is so fucking annoying dude like its so antidisability friendly it actually disgusts me#this isnt about the scooters here either this is a general thing with all forms of public tranzit in america more or less

Saw a fucking article about how Joe Biden is mourning the loss of three US troops with said troop's families. LIKE BRO GET A GRIP! You sent those guys out there when you really didn't have to. You have no place to grieve their loss you sick fuck. Then, on the radio, the Fox News woman said that in retaliation to these three military deaths, Biden is sending eighty-five air strikes. I'm not SURPRISED because it's history repeating itself but I'm certainly baffled.
#Three military men getting killed in a thing that FRANKLY they didn't need to get involved in and then we plan to kill so many more.#Reminds me of this commercial that plays where this guy has so much pride for his country and he says this like he can't believe his words.#'They attacked us. In OUR country.' LIKE BABE WHERE ELSE ARE THEY GONNA ATTACK YOU!? THE NORTH POLE!?#OF COURSE THEY ATTACKED THE AMERICANS IN AMERICA GET A GRIP!#But hearing this news made me think of that. Like brother. Those are military men and you sent them somewhere to fight people.#What did you expect? For them all to live and for them to sucessfully kill those pirates?#Not that I need to say the quiet part out loud but it truly is just an excuse to kill more people. It's what the US always does.#Something BAD happens but overall a minor thing in comparison to what the US immediately unleashes on whoever DARED to cross them.#I fucking hate it. I'm sick of this.#He mours the lives of three people he sent out to be killed. Because the pirates are stopping the economy from working PERFECTLY!#The economy is still going babe! They are just protesting!#But he mourns the loss of military men that were bound to die by Biden's hands. He's the reason they are dead.#He used their lives as chess pieces to further justify killing more people. It's revolting.#I'm so disgusted by this that I just had to say something SOMEWHERE! Even if I'm not as articulate and in the know as other people who post

There is something seriously wrong with Williams Racing.
They destroyed the F1 career of one young driver already and, because apparently that wasn’t enough, decided they want to play around with their rookie driver’s neurological health by putting him in the cockpit for a race with a concussion.
Franco Colapinto suffered yet another horrific crash at the 2024 Las Vegas GP. The 21-year-old Argentine had a massive meeting with the barriers — estimated to be at least a 50G impact. Naturally, the Williams driver had to be examined immediately by the medical staff at the track. But his situation was dire enough for him to be sent back from the track.
Colapinto told ESPN Latin America that he had suffered a concussion. “I had a concussion, they told me I couldn’t speak with anyone and sent me back to the hotel. It’s true I tell you,” he explained.
In the aftermath of his crash, Williams put out a team statement explaining the gravity of the situation. It was being suggested that Colapinto’s concussion was severe enough to keep him away from the track on Saturday for the Grand Prix.
However, the young Argentine soldiered on and arrived to the track on Saturday. Starting from the pit lane, the 21-year-old drove his own race and finished 14th at the chequered flag.
Excerpt from Anirban Aly Mandal of The Sports Rush
Driving with a concussion could have worsened the head trauma. Driving with a concussion could have resulted in a crash. Driving with a concussion could have caused lasting damage not only to Franco but to the other drivers racing alongside someone who has temporarily impaired cognitive abilities.
I truly cannot string together words strong enough to explain how disgusted I am by this entire situation.
Shame on Williams Racing. Shame on James Vowles. Shame on every member of the medical team who stood by and allowed this to happen.

"The studios thought they could handle a strike. They might end up sparking a revolution"
by Mary McNamara
"If you want to start a revolution, tell your workers you’d rather see them lose their homes than offer them fair wages. Then lecture them about how their “unrealistic” demands are “disruptive” to the industry, not to mention disturbing your revels at Versailles, er, Sun Valley.
Honestly, watching the studios turn one strike into two makes you wonder whether any of their executives have ever seen a movie or watched a television show. Scenes of rich overlords sipping Champagne and acting irritated while the crowd howls for bread rarely end well for the Champagne sippers.
This spring, it sometimes seemed like the Hollywood studios represented by the Alliance of Motion Picture and Television Producers were actively itching for a writers’ strike. Speculations about why, exactly, ran the gamut: Perhaps it would save a little money in the short run and show the Writers Guild of America (perceived as cocky after its recent ability to force agents out of the packaging business) who’s boss.
More obviously, it might secure the least costly compromise on issues like residuals payments and transparency about viewership.
But the 20,000 members of the WGA are not the only people who, having had their lives and livelihoods upended by the streaming model, want fair pay and assurances about the use of artificial intelligence, among other sticking points. The 160,000 members of the Screen Actors Guild-American Federation of Television and Radio Artists share many of the writers’ concerns. And recent unforced errors by studio executives, named and anonymous, have suddenly transformed a fight the studios were spoiling for into a public relations war they cannot win.
Even as SAG-AFTRA representatives were seeing a majority of their demands rejected despite a nearly unanimous strike vote, a Deadline story quoted unnamed executives detailing a strategy to bleed striking writers until they come crawling back.
Days later, when an actors’ strike seemed imminent, Disney Chief Executive Bob Iger took time away from the Sun Valley Conference in Idaho not to offer compromise but to lecture. He told CNBC’s David Faber that the unions’ refusal to help out the studios by taking a lesser deal is “very disturbing to me.”
“There’s a level of expectation that they have that is just not realistic,” Iger said. “And they are adding to the set of the challenges that this business is already facing that is, quite frankly, very disruptive.”
If Iger thought his attempt to exec-splain the situation would make actors think twice about walking out, he was very much mistaken. Instead, he handed SAG-AFTRA President Fran Drescher the perfect opportunity for the kind of speech usually shouted atop the barricades.
“We are the victims here,” she said Thursday, marking the start of the actors’ strike. “We are being victimized by a very greedy entity. I am shocked by the way the people that we have been in business with are treating us. I cannot believe it, quite frankly: How far apart we are on so many things. How they plead poverty, that they’re losing money left and right, when giving hundreds of millions of dollars to their CEOs. It is disgusting. Shame on them. They stand on the wrong side of history at this very moment.”
Cue the cascading strings of “Les Mis,” bolstered by images of the most famous people on the planet walking out in solidarity: the cast of “Oppenheimer” leaving the film’s London premiere; the writers and cast of “The X-Files” reuniting on the picket line.
A few days later, Barry Diller, chairman and senior executive of IAC and Expedia Group and a former Hollywood studio chief, suggested that studio executives and top-earning actors take a 25% pay cut to bring a quick end to the strikes and help prevent “the collapse of the entire industry.”
When Diller is telling executives to take a pay cut to avoid destroying their industry, it is no longer a strike, or even two strikes. It is a last-ditch attempt to prevent le déluge.
Yes, during the 2007-08 writers’ strike, picketers yelled noncomplimentary things at executives as they entered their respective lots. (“What you earnin’, Chernin?” was popular at Fox, where Peter Chernin was chairman and chief executive.) But that was before social media made everything more immediate, incendiary and personal. (Even if they have never seen a movie or TV show, one would think that people heading up media companies would understand how media actually work.)
Even at the most heated moments of the last writers’ strike, executives like Chernin and Iger were seen as people who could be reasoned with — in part because most of the executives were running studios, not conglomerations, but mostly because the pay gap between executives and workers, in Hollywood and across the country, had not yet widened to the reprehensible chasm it has since.
Now, the massive eight- and nine-figure salaries of studio heads alongside photos of pitiably small residual checks are paraded across legacy and social media like historical illustrations of monarchs growing fat as their people starve. Proof that, no matter how loudly the studios claim otherwise, there is plenty of money to go around.
Topping that list is Warner Bros. Discovery Chief Executive Davd Zaslav. Having re-named HBO Max just Max and made cuts to the beloved Turner Classic Movies, among other unpopular moves, Zaslav has become a symbol of the cold-hearted, highly compensated executive that the writers and actors are railing against.
The ferocious criticism of individual executives’ salaries has placed Hollywood’s labor conflict at the center of the conversation about growing wealth disparities in the U.S., which stokes, if not causes, much of this country’s political divisions. It also strengthens the solidarity among the WGA and SAG-AFTRA and with other groups, from hotel workers to UPS employees, in the midst of disputes during what’s been called a “hot labor summer.”
Unfortunately, the heightened antagonism between studio executives and union members also appears to leave little room for the kind of one-on-one negotiation that helped end the 2007-08 writers’ strike. Iger’s provocative statement, and the backlash it provoked, would seem to eliminate him as a potential elder statesman who could work with both sides to help broker a deal.
Absent Diller and his “cut your damn salaries” plan, there are few Hollywood figures with the kind of experience, reputation and relationships to fill the vacuum.
At this point, the only real solution has been offered by actor Mark Ruffalo, who recently suggested that workers seize the means of production by getting back into the indie business, which is difficult to imagine and not much help for those working in television.
It’s the AMPTP that needs to heed Iger’s admonishment. At a time when the entertainment industry is going through so much disruption, two strikes is the last thing anyone needs, especially when the solution is so simple. If the studios don’t want a full-blown revolution on their hands, they’d be smart to give members of the WGA and SAG-AFTRA contracts they can live with."

being told i'm very intelligent and self aware since i've been young. being told i'm very mature for my age. people in my age group and adults in my life noticing i was introverted, self-isolating, and/or had no friends. people noticing it was hard for me to get close to people. people noticing i had very intense emotions and mood swings.
people noticing i wasn't normal. that i was weird.
enter pretty privilege. enter high masking. enter sun-coded (but depressed) individual.
my outward characteristics and peoples' biases (neither of which i can control) along with my constitution (being autistic, trans, brown, attractive) seems to REALLY vex people.
up to the point they only zero in on three aspects of me:
i'm hot. i'm trans. i'm weird af.
also note: not having any proper support or love because of my characteristics and peoples' biases/expectations.
makes for life on nightmare mode. i am single and lonely and probably gonna die alone because of shit i can't help. because i can't find ONE person i can love and be loved by.
and i know i'm not the only one. i know i'm not. but this is shitty. shitty af.
the worse part is being misunderstood and mistreated. and no matter how many times or how many ways you try to explain yourself people still get it wrong and have the worst takes ever.
Neurodivergent people are never undiagnosed. We are misdiagnosed. Our symptoms don't go unnoticed, and people will always attribute them to some sort of cause. They'll just attribute them to personality and blame the individual for their symptoms.
For example. My autism is not undiagnosed, it's been misdiagnosed as "too sensitive," "awkward," "rude," "obsessive," and "too intense." My brother's adhd wasn't undiagnosed, it was misdiagnosed as "lazy," "impulsive," "annoying," and "can't seem to get any work done."
Growing up without a diagnosis is growing up believing that you are to blame for your differentness. Your symptoms are a personality flaw. You are diagnosed by everyone around you as "weird."
#autistic#actually autistic#autistic and trans#trans man#trans masc#trans man of color#person of color#i'm mixed btw#it seems like people go HE IS WAY TOO MANY THINGS#TOO COMPLEX#ERR HARD TO DEAL WITH#LET ME JUST REDUCE HIM DOWN TO SOMETHING I CAN WRAP MY HEAD AROUND#enter people thinking i'm being manipulative#or that i'm toxic#literally just being depressed and anxious#wanting reassurance#communication and love#but ok#feminism leaving womens bodies when a trans man#is literally anything but perfect in their eyes#whatever the fuck they think THAT means#tried to ask a bunch of women on a dating app what they thought the difference really was between trans men and cis men#why were they attracted to trans men and not cis men?#fucking crickets#lord help you if you're queer and neurodivergent#which i know there is correlation for#but it is so trendy now that it seems people have sanitized the very real very messy very fucked up reality#of being a super minority in america#who is wanted by people#but whom also people are disgusted by bc their existence is
